To celebrate the birth of Princess Alexia Juliana Marcella Laurentien on June 26, 2005, the Glass Museum in Leerdam released a new Orange Vase. This beautiful calabash-shaped vase was designed by Willem Noyons (1956). Since 1927, Royal Leerdam Crystal has been releasing these iconic Orange Vases to mark significant events within the royal family and important moments in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Leading Dutch artists and designers have contributed to this tradition, and master glassblowers craft each vase by hand from Cristal Supérieur, the purest crystal in Europe.
