Fantastic ceiling lamp/chandelier "Nordlys", by Erik Wärnå for the Danish Kemp & Lauritzen, 1960s. NORDLYS means Northern Lights in Danish or Aurora Borealis in Latin. This powerful light phenomenon around the polar regions of the earth was the source of inspiration for Eric Wärnås when he designed the unique Nordlys lamp. That and the human desire for modernity and individuality. The lamp consists of 26 glass cylinders in fantastic fluted glass. The glass cylinders sit on a brass frame. At the top and bottom of the brass frame, the glass is recessed and beautiful small circles sparkle beautifully. The lamp shines beautifully shimmering through the glass and gives a warm luxurious tone in contrast to the illuminated brass. E27 bulb. The cord measures 92 cm. A beautifully designed brass copper cover covers the ceiling mount. The lamp is the best of Scandinavian design - the choice of materials and the beautiful design language
